Then move the timeline to just as the window disappears. For this move the timeline to the beginning and set the path keyframe. Now we will animate the path of the line which we renamed to pen. We can see that after previewing by pressing spacebar the text and line stays in the same place so we have to animate those using motion tracking Set the stroke to 5px and Gray white in color. Next, use the pen tool or press G to create a line from the text to one of the windows of the building. You can change the font size from the character panel. The font is set to Museo SlabĪdjust and move the text such that it fits in the rectangle that we have created. Use the Horizontal Type Tool or press Ctrl + T and click in the comp and add the text as shown. ![]() ![]() To only select the opacity press T or transparency while selecting the layer. For the shape layer set the opacity to 75%. Set the fill to black and stroke to none. So, click off the video drag the rectangle. Now we will create a rectangle or press Q and drag a box as shown but make sure that you do not select the video or else it will create a mask. So we have the video and what we want to do is use some text to point to one of the windows of the building. To open the video go in the project panel and double click to import the videoĬreate the comp from the selection and rename the comp to Point Line At the bottom, there is layers and timeline panel which is used to add media and add animation keyframes. At the right, there are various sections used to edit the video. At the top right, we have various layout presets which will arrange according to the type of work. Then there is the composition panel which shows the preview of the animation or video. On the left side, there is a project panel that consists of the project files and an effects control panel that shows the effects applied on a particular layer. Next, just below it, we have a tool panel and its properties. At the top is the menu bar like File, Edit, etc. Let us first familiarize ourselves with the interface before starting to get a better understanding. But, I guess in a pinch with a very short clip it’s worth a look.3D animation, modelling, simulation, game development & others Step #1 I think I would highly recommend learning a bit of After Effects if you need to do this as it will take a fraction of the time. With text you can actually skip around some frames as Premiere will fill in the in-between frames as best as it can, so it should be faster.Īs an easy-to-understand way to achieve motion tracking it is a good effect, but it take a long time depending on the clip. Use this as your cross and do the same frame-by-frame repositioning. When you create the text make sure it is center aligned and then move down to the second line and type an “x”. It can help the clip feel more dynamic.ĭoing this for text is a similar method. Just unclick the “Use Composition Shutter Angle” option in the Transform panel and change the Shutter Angle to 180 degrees (or more). It’s possible you might want more shutter blur in your shot. Eventually you will have your subject tracked. Going frame by frame you can then use the position setting to manually reframe your shot, making sure to line up the eyes with the ruler cross you created. Gille drags a vertical ruler over to the center of his eyes and then pulls a horizontal ruler to his eyelids to create a cross. With that done go and activate the safe margins, rulers, and guides. Head a little bit into the clip and do this again, this time zooming in 250% and repositioning the shot to achieve the framing you want. Just click the stopwatch icon next to each setting. Set a keyframe for the scale and position at the very beginning of the clip. Next, apply a transform effect to your clip. Once in Premiere with the clip on the timeline you’ll want three things in the program monitor: rulers, safe margins, and guides. Being a fairly wide shot with some dynamic movement it provides a lot of space to work with. Picking a clip to drop on the timeline, Gille chooses a shot of him doing some dancing. He admits there are plenty of paid plug-ins, like Mocha, that can do this already, but some people just learning may not want to pay for that just yet. However, there isn’t an easy way to go about tracking motion and titles.įilmmaker Gille Claes from Premiere Basics has a very quick and easy-to-understand tutorial on how you can effectively do this using the built-in tools of Premiere. ![]() It has some tools for doing thing, such as when you apply a mask to an effect and then track that throughout the clip. One thing Premiere Pro CC doesn’t have as a nice, built-in feature is capable motion tracking. ![]()
